Frequently Asked Questions

What is 5xUP?
5xUP is a venture builder, AKA startup factory, startup studio, or venture studio, that is a company engineered to create multiple startups: a nice definition is "corporate co-founder". These venture builders have been around for almost 30 years, starting from IdeaLabs in the United States which was launched in 1996.
Is 5xUP incorporated?
5xUP is not yet incorporated as an independent company (soon!), and right now we operate through Artificial Engineering s.r.l. (Italy) and Rejustify S.à r.l. (Luxembourg) whose fouders are part of the 5xUP team. We just came out of stealth mode!
Isn't Luxembourg too small for a venture builder to succeed?
Actually, the opposite. Luxembourg is an ideal testbed — compact, well-networked, and underserved in venture creation. We start here not because it's easy, but because the opportunity density is high, and competition is low. From there, we scale across Europe.
Do you have the right team to execute?
Yes — and it's growing fast. We’re bringing together a world-class team with deep experience in:
  • Rapid product development and validation
  • Startup scaling and operational excellence
  • Community and ecosystem building

This isn't a generic venture team — it's purpose-built for the unique demands of a venture builder.
How do I know this model works?
Venture Builders are responsible for some of the biggest successes in the startup world. Examples include:
  • Rocket Internet (HelloFresh, Zalando, Lazada)
  • Betaworks (Giphy, Dots, Bitly)
  • Atomic (Hims & Hers, Bungalow, OpenStore)
  • Antler (global presence; 800+ companies launched)
  • Entrepreneur First (Tractable, Magic Pony, Aztec)

While the models vary, the principle is the same: structured, repeatable startup creation with built-in support.
In case of any transactions with 5xUP, who processes my payment/invoice?
Any current payments are processed through Stripe or direct bank transfer via Artificial Engineering s.r.l. that handles the invoicing.
